Optional website analytics

With your permission, Google Analytics measures page visits and which service or price-tool links are selected. Google processes technical information such as browser, device and network information to provide these reports. Analytics is optional; declining does not prevent you using the services or sending a request.

What we keep out of analytics

We do not deliberately send booking form answers, customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, job addresses or booking references to Google Analytics. Page measurements exclude query strings and fragments; referrer information is reduced to the originating website. Advertising signals and personalised advertising are disabled in this integration.

Cookies and your choice

Analytics can set cookies beginning _ga after acceptance. Google Analytics normally uses these to distinguish visits, with a default expiry of up to two years. Your analytics preference is stored in this browser for 180 days. Declining or withdrawing turns measurement off and clears the Google Analytics cookies this website can access. Your choice applies to this browser; other browsers or the www and non-www versions may ask separately.

Your booking enquiries

When you submit a booking request, your contact details, job address, chosen services, preferred date and job notes are sent securely to HandyTackle. We store the request in our dashboard and send an internal email notification to info@handytackle.co.uk. Google Firebase provides the booking storage and backend, and Gmail delivers the notification. We use your information to respond, arrange and manage the work. A request does not confirm a booking or collect payment. Optional analytics does not receive those form contents.

Google email connection for the owner

The HandyTackle owner connects a Google account so our backend can send booking notifications to info@handytackle.co.uk. Customers do not need a Google account or grant Google permissions to request work. The connection requests permission to send email and basic account identity to verify the sender's email address. It does not request access to read the inbox or delete messages.

We store the owner's verified sender address, connection status and an encrypted refresh token in backend-only Google Firebase settings. The OAuth client credentials stay in Google Secret Manager. These details are used to maintain the authorised sending connection; they are not displayed to customers or used for advertising. Booking notification messages contain the customer's contact details and selected job information needed to manage the enquiry.

The owner can revoke HandyTackle's access in their Google Account permissions. Revoking access stops new email notifications; booking records already saved remain available for managing enquiries and existing jobs. We follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, when using Google API data.

Keeping and requesting your information

We keep enquiry and job information for as long as needed to respond, manage the work and meet applicable record-keeping obligations. Contact info@handytackle.co.uk to ask about access, correction or deletion of your information. We assess requests against applicable data protection requirements and any records we must keep.

Why we use your information and your rights

We use enquiry information to take steps at your request before a service contract and to perform confirmed contracts. We use legitimate interests to manage our business and internal booking notifications, legal obligations for records we must keep, and your consent for optional analytics. You can withdraw analytics consent using Cookie settings.

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your personal information, or object to its use. Email info@handytackle.co.uk to make a request or raise a concern. You can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office about how your personal information is handled.
