Bed and wardrobe dismantling for moving house
Large bed frames, storage beds and wardrobes may need taking apart before they can pass through doors, hallways or stairs. Choose each furniture type, size and quantity under disassembly. Include model names, sliding doors, extra drawers and modular sections so the job description matches the furniture you have.
Disassembly and reassembly are separate tasks
Disassembly takes furniture apart. Reassembly builds it again using the existing parts and fixings. Choose both services if you need both stages and tell us where each will happen. Different addresses, days or separate visits need to be agreed before the booking is confirmed.
Furniture suitability matters
Flat pack construction can often be dismantled, but glued joints, damaged boards, worn connectors or altered furniture may not come apart cleanly. Tell us about existing damage and missing fixings. Specialist, fitted or permanently joined furniture needs assessment rather than a standard item selection.
Access and belongings
Tell us if the furniture contains belongings or is difficult to reach. We’ll agree how contents and any repositioning should be handled before dismantling. Add packing if you need help boxing belongings. You do not need to clear the whole room before requesting a visit.
Combine dismantling with house move packing
If you also need belongings boxed before moving day, add house move packing. Packing covers household contents such as kitchenware, clothes and books; it is priced separately from taking furniture apart.

Is furniture dismantling the same as disassembly?
Yes. Both describe taking suitable furniture apart. Customers also call it flat pack dismantling or furniture take-down.
Can I book furniture disassembly without a removal van?
Yes. HandyTackle provides the furniture work as a standalone service. You arrange transport separately.
Can you dismantle an IKEA bed or wardrobe?
Select the matching item and include its model, configuration and condition. Suitability depends on the construction and fixings; large modular wardrobes need the full layout described.
Does every piece of furniture come apart?
No. Glued, damaged, fitted or specialist furniture may need an individual assessment or may be unsuitable for dismantling.
Can furniture be rebuilt at another address?
You can request assembly as well as disassembly. Include both addresses and your preferred dates so separate visits and the full work can be agreed.
